Tawanda Canty
President

I’m excited to work alongside other dedicated families and staff to support our school and create meaningful experiences for our children. My family (Glenn, TaeLyn 17, Zoe 10 & Cairo 6) enjoys attending sports events, movie nights, traveling and indulging in amazing cuisines. I am passionate about building connections that strengthen our school and community. My profession is acquisitions/project management and during downtime, I enjoy researching my genealogy, spending time with family, and watching documentaries and crime shows.
I look forward to serving our students, supporting our amazing teachers, and helping make Rockhill Elementary a place where every family feels seen, supported and inspired. Let’s make this a great year!

Momma to 1 Raccoon - Lyla (5th), and an AG Wright Tiger, Bradley (7th). I am a full-time government employee and full-time PTO mom (5th year). I love to spend any free time with my family boating, fishing, watching movies & snuggling, singing & dancing, crafting, playing games...or anything else that we can get into with our 2 doodles, Abby & Emmy.

Hi, Rockhill! I’m a mom of 2, 1 high schooler (and former Raccoon), and a little Raccoon. My husband, children & I have lived in Stafford for 10 years. We love trips to Disney World, Penn State football, and playing soccer! Looking forward to another fantastic year at Rockhill!

Hello Rockhill families! I am so happy to be serving my fourth year as your PTO secretary. My husband and I settled in Stafford 7 years ago with our 2 children, Harper (4th grade), and Logan (5th grade), and our fur babies Diesel and Drax. I can't wait for another great year at RES!

Mom to three boys, Gregory (17), Thomas (15), and Timothy (10). My husband Justin and I have lived in Northern Virginia for 25 years. We have been in Stafford and at Rockhill for 7 years. I love to knit and crochet and enjoy hiking and spoiling our cat Cleo. I am looking forward to my second year as Treasurer of our PTO.

I have been a special education teacher at Rockhill for 13 years and have been with SCPS for 15 years. I am thankful to work at an amazing school! I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, and traveling.

Mom of 3 - Porter (12), Jillian (7), and Hatcher (4). This is our family's 8th year in Stafford and at Rockhill. We enjoy hiking, going to the beach, & camping. More recently I have found joy in gardening and refinishing furniture. I can't wait to see what this year brings!

Hi Rockhill families! I’m momma to two Raccoons… Caleb (7) in 2nd grade, Levi (9) in 4th grade, and a Mountain View Wildcat Kaden (17), a junior this year. In my free time you will find me at the gym, my garden, reading, or crafting with my cricut. I look forward to my second year here on the PTO and all the fun activities we have planned!

Wife to Jonathan and mommy to three: Nathaniel (former Rockhill Raccoon, now at AG Wright), CJ (4th grade), and Hannah (2nd grade). Three words I'd use to describe myself: EXTROVERT, LAUGHTER, SNACKS! I'm so excited to see all returning & new Rockhill scholars with their families to make each individual event and our overall Rockhill community the best, most friendly it can be!

Hi all :) I've got two little racoons that light up my life. I'm mommy to Javed in 2nd grade and Arsalan in Kindergarten. When I am not with my own kids, I am at another school teaching some soaring cardinals (my work school's mascot) as an autism teacher for elementary grades. So there isn't much of my life that is not centered on making the elementary school days great for my kids and others. I look forward to having a great year with a great community!

Proud mom to a 5th grader, a 3rd grader, and our fur baby. I’m a marriage and family therapist working from home. Originally from Japan, I’ve also lived in California, Ohio, and Washington, D.C., before settling here three years ago. I enjoy traveling, skiing, cycling, and spending time at the beach. I’m looking forward to a wonderful school year filled with meaningful connections and memorable events.

Mom of 5 (3 boys and 2 girls). I have 3 children out of high school, one at AG Wright and one Raccoon. I am a Nurse at North Stafford High school and I enjoy spending time with my family at sporting events, traveling, and the lake. I am also a proud mom of my dogs, chickens, ducks, and bougie goats. I enjoy taking pictures which makes for lasting memories and am excited to offer this passion to the Raccoon families. Can’t wait to see your big smiles as we enjoy another exciting year.

Hi! I’m Dina Ramirez-Ayala, a CPA with over 10 years of experience supporting nonprofit organizations. My career began in public accounting, but my passion lies in serving communities.
In 2021, my family moved from Alexandria to Stafford, and we’ve loved settling into our new home. My son Max is starting Kindergarten, and my daughter Gallie is entering third grade—big milestones for both!
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, spending time with loved ones, and my favorite—traveling with my beautiful family. I’m excited to support the PTO and help make this school year a great one!

​I am excited to serve on the PTO board again this year. My husband Dan and I recently moved Stafford with our two boys and dogs. We love it here and have two raccoons – Duncan (3rd) and Declan (5th). I currently work as a 5th Grade Teacher here at Rockhill! In my spare time, I love reading, baking (especially cookie decorating), swimming, hiking, and traveling.
